A $50,000 High Roller Champion Will Be Crowned Today

Byron Kaverman looking for another win on his resume

All the money is up for grabs this afternoon when the final six players return to battle it out for PokerStars Caribbean Adventure High Roller glory. The Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island will host the final table today when the action kicks off at 3 PM.

American pro, Byron Kaverman boasts the chip lead over France’s Jean-Noel Thorel, Ireland’s Steve O’Dwyer, Frenchman Benjamin Pollak, American poker legend Erik Seidel, and Orpen Kisacikoglu from Turkey.

None of these men need any introduction. All have found success on the felt and have the necessary skills to take down this title.

Kaverman has amassed over $11.5M in career live-recorded tournament earnings and has several wins in High Roller formats. If the Ohio native is able to go wire-to-wire this would be the second largest cash of his career.

Thorel comes into play today looking for his first career win according to his HendonMob page. The oldest player at the table has finished runner-up six times including three previous second place finished in European Poker Tour High Rollers. A win would also push Thorel over $3.0M in tournament earnings.

Only topped by Seidel when it comes to total earnings at the table, O’Dwyer will be one to watch this afternoon. O’Dwyer has over $20.M in earnings and has won just about every High Roller event available including a victory in this very event just two years ago, on this exact date.

Though he had already made a name for himself, Pollak made a big splash on the poker scene last summer in Vegas when he made the final table of the World Series of Poker Main Event. Pollak ended up finishing third for $3.5M but since then has made over $1.4M on top.

The biggest name at the table has to be Seidel. If poker royalty was a thing, Seidel would be it. Sitting number two on the all-time money list, Seidel has piled up over $33.2M. If Seidel is able to overcome the rest of the table, this will be the 30th time he has claimed victory.

Last, but certainly not least, Kisacikoglu comes into play as the short stack and has some work to do. Sitting number one on Turkey’s all-time money list, Kisacikoglu has a win under his belt taking down a $10,000 High Roller at the PokerStars Championship Panama in 2017. Kisacikoglu has just under $1 million in career live-recorded earnings and will best his previous top-cash with a fourth place or better.

High Roller final table

Play will kick off live at 3 PM with a cards-up live-stream on a 30-minute delay beginning at 3:30 PM. Play will continue this afternoon until a winner is crowned and with only 30-minute levels, that may happen rather quickly.

Here is what the players are fighting for:
