The $50,000 PCA Single Day High Roller was won by New Zealand's David Yan earlier this week. This 6-Max tournament attracted a star-studded High Roller cast, with Yan agreeing a heads-up deal with Orpen Kisacikoglu.

Yan banked $485,690 for this victory, after 14 hours of play, and told PokerNews that his victory was down to running "insane"

“I’m pretty grateful for the experience" Yan told PokerNews after his victory. "When you play such a little amount, it’s just basically anything can happen. Today I just ran insane, the field was one of the tougher ones we’ve seen".

Raising and Folding

Nível 17 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Byron Kaverman
Byron Kaverman

Byron Kaverman raised to 90,000 before Justin Bonomo made it 275,000. The rest of the table got out of the way before Kaverman followed them into the muck.

A few moments later, Sam Greenwood surveyed David Yan's stack before he raised to 80,000. Yan called from the big blind and the flop was {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Yan check-called a 50,000 bet from Greenwood and the turn was {j-Spades}. Yan checked again, but this time folded when Greenwood started to put T-25,000 chips into the pot.

Bonomo picked up a few more chips a few hands later when he raised to 250,000 and took down the blinds.

Top 5 Poker Movies You Must Watch

Nível 16 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Over the past century, poker has permeated pop culture, especially when it comes to motion pictures. Long before the “Poker Boom”, and even before the World Series of Poker (WSOP) was a thing, poker had already made its big screen debut.

Over the decades, poker fans have been treated to a plethora of poker movies, some good and others not so much. Some well-received poker films include the western comedy Maverick (1994), Survivor host Jeff Probst’s debut film Finder’s Fee (2001), the improv-inspired The Grand (2007), indie comedy darling Hitting the Nuts (2010), and the high-profile Hollywood flick Molly’s Game (2017).

All of those are among the best poker movies of all time, and if this article was “Top 10” instead of “Top 5 Poker Movies,” chances are they’d make the final list. However, the PokerNews crew got together, along with input from social media, to determine the top five must-watch poker movies of all time.

Greenwood Applies Preflop Pressure

Nível 16 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Sam Greenwood raised to 75,000 before Byron Kaverman made it 225,000 from the small blind. Greenwood four-bet to 380,000 and that was too much for Kaverman so he tossed it away.

Justin Bonomo remains the short stack on the bubble.

Another One for Greenwood

Nível 16 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Sam Greenwood limped in from the small blind and Orpen Kisacikoglu checked his option from the big blind. The flop was {9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{q-Clubs}.

Both players checked the flop and the {2-Diamonds} turn. The river was {8-Diamonds}.

Greenwood fired 90,000 on the river and turned over {q-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a pair of queens when Kisacikoglu called. Kisacikoglu tossed the losing hand in the muck.

Jean-Noel Thorel raised to 75,000 before Orpen Kisacikoglu leaned back to consider his options. After he used a time bank, Kisacikoglu put out a stack of 500,000. Thorel quickly shoved and Kisacikoglu called to give it a shot with his last 750,000.

WSOP

The dates for the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) have been in your diary since December, but now get ready to plan your entire summer with the release of the full WSOP schedule.

A total of 95 bracelets — the most at a live WSOP in history — will be awarded over the course of seven weeks at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas Hotels & Casinos. In addition, there will be 20 bracelets awarded on WSOP.com in the merged network of New Jersey and Nevada, while the segregated markets of Pennsylvania and Michigan will each award seven bracelets.

The action gets underway on May 30 and runs through until July 18, 2023, on the Las Vegas Strip at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas. Officials are doing what they can to ensure the $10,000 Main Event will be the biggest ever, including numerous satellite options, and if it is someone in the field will win a "Main Event for Life" drawing in which they will win a non-transferrable Main Event buy-in for the next 30 years!
